Camborne Community Church

This is a social group for folk over 50 (who are "young at heart"!) which met roughly once a month before Covid, to enjoy singing along to some of the “golden oldies”, usually accompanied by local entertainers. We also enjoyed quizzes such as ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’, and creative activities on special occasions. This is always followed by a lovely buffet tea and a short message. And it’s all free!

This activity was obviously shut down during the Covid-19 pandemic and we have found some of our regulars have been reluctant to meet indoors agin since the lockdowns. 

During 2023 we arranged a couple of coach trips and we are confident that a re-launch in early 2024 will see many in the community coming together again for some fun afternoons.

Throughout the year, coach trips are arranged to places like Padstow, Looe and various Garden Centres, with a trip in December to see the Christmas Lights.

It’s a great way to make lasting friendships – some people have been coming for years - and to help care for each other. Whatever the activity, there is fun, friendship and the sharing of Jesus’ love at every opportunity.
